A very special place

Please Join Us!

Lots of us discover that the warmth and connections we make in this very special neighborhood are enhanced when we belong to the Pemaquid Trail Association.

Camaraderie and conviviality are the intangible plusses, while the more concrete benefits include:

  • timely communications about events and community issues

  • numerous fun social gatherings

  • an opportunity to vote in board elections and influence policy matters

  • ways to share your ideas and get involved

  • participation in our annual meeting

For so many of us, the Trail is ‘home’—whether we are year-round residents or seasonal visitors. There’s something magical about this place, and a big part of what makes our community so special is the people who are drawn here. Many families have longstanding ties, often enduring for generations, to the woods and seashore that we all love, and to our cottages, cabins, and dream homes. Neighbors smile and wave, kids play, dogs walk their humans, and friendships grow.”

OUR MISSION

On behalf of the community, our MISSION is to:

Preserve access to ROWs and increase roadway safety, by taking a cooperative, reasonable, and commonsense approach to upholding the policies that provide access to and use of the rights of way; coordinating with the town on road, ditch, and culvert maintenance; and promoting community safety initiatives.

Build community, by organizing social gatherings and activities; keeping members informed through timely and transparent communications; and encouraging neighbors to support neighbors.

Promote environmental stewardship, by acknowledging the importance of protecting the health of our shared environment and natural resources now and for the future; and encouraging members to learn about and consider actions they can take to care for our land, water, woods, and wildlife.

Located near the southern tip of the peninsula, the Trail boasts nearby attractions such as the iconic Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Pemaquid Beach, one of the few sand beaches on Maine’s rocky coast.
